deep thoughtz 018: ALWAYS WAS, IS AND ALWAYS SHALL BE - GG ALLIN
Goooooooood morniiiiiing Vieeeeeeetnaaaaaaam! In a calculated effort by our state's public relations department to take your mind off of the bombs going off outside and the inane social media ramblings of your high school associates, we have decided to present you with something a little more spicy than this blog normally covers. For the initiated, prepare your assholes and bring sandwiches for the road! For the uninitiated, ain't no saving you now! Yessiree it's Jesus Christ himself, GG Allin!
The man, the myth, the legend... Well, maybe not the first one
Musically, this is some bullshit. The peak of Allin's musical talent; a powerpop proto-Negative XP twenty minute romp of semi-dancable earbleeders and lyrical terrorism. Nothing special if you've been jammin Raw Power or Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing for the past decade like the average thinking individual. But ya see fellas here's where postmodernism ruined everything: music ain't always about what yer listenin to. Sometimes music is more about the musicians who made it, sometimes it's more about what it all meant at the time it was made, and sometimes it's more about gettin yerself some pussay by impressin impressionable women with an encyclopedic knowledge of American pop culture. None of which really apply to this album, as frankly GG Allin isn't really much of a musician (no more than I am at least!), there ain't no time period where a guy like GG Allin would've been "acceptable", and let's be real here guys impressionable women of ill-repute ain't gonna care which musician you talkin bout so long as u speakin with yer chest! The beauty of GG Allin, if we can call if that, is all about seeing where the limits are pushed, seeing where the line is drawn by actively pushing yourself and your audience to cross all previously known lines. Musically this is as generic as the Ramones; aesthetically and culturally it's as dangerous to mainstream sensibilities as Alex Jones, ISIS, and Vladimir Lenin.
The horror...
A guy like GG never really had a chance in this world; father was a prototypical serial killer, his musical instincts were below even AC fuckin DC, and institutionalized knowledge of psychology is clearly three thousand years behind wherever the fuck he was. Then again, $CHIANG_MAI_ELVIS$ was never about normal people and was never meant to be read by normal people. The fact is, reader, I like to think there's a lil bit of GG in all of us, a sick fucc born to kill and livin to lose. We are all God's children after all, aren't we?! From good to evil we all are accountable to our creator in our own ways, and GG was undoubtedly the most evil rock n roll motherfucker that ever lived.
Of course, there was only one more evil than GG Allin...
